DIY sea-inspired flameless tea light candle holders

If you are looking for some sea-side decor for your beach house or waterfront restaurant or bar then this DIY Sea-inspired flameless tea light candle holder tutorial is for you! This is so incredibly simple and effective you almost have to laugh. Seriously ANYONE can do this and be happy with the results. This tutorial was originally found at The V Spot.

Supplies Needed:

  • Clean glass jars (you could upcycle any glass jar that a food item was in if you want, or that a scented candle was in)
  • Mod Podge
  • Paper napkins with a fun sea-inspired print of your choosing (or any style print you’d like)
  • Paint brush
  • Twine or jute
  • Flameless battery operated tea light candles

Directions:

  1. Take the napkin and peel the layers apart. (The thinner the paper, the more translucent your finished product will be.)
  2. Cut the napkin into strips that are a little wider than what will fit your jar, so that you can wrap the paper underneath it.
  3. Coat the jar with Mod Podge and adhere the paper to the jar. (Be gentle, as the paper is so thin.  You don’t want it to tear.)
  4. When dry, put an additional coat of Mod Podge over it and let dry.
  5. To finish off your votive holder, tie an end of twine around the neck of your jar, brush on a little Mod Podge to help “set” the twine, and wrap neck of the jar until it’s completely covered.
  6. Add your flameless tea light candle and you’re done!
